INFORMATIONS

  Grand groupe de rock'n'roll et surf instrumental, avec un son qui mélange guitare twangy/reverb et saxophone grognant.
  Au début des années 90, John Stivers (guitare), Scott Bomar (basse), Justin Thompson (saxophone) et Jeff Goggans (batterie) forment Impala à Memphis. Ils tournent dans le même circuit que The Oblivians et les ROYAL PENDLETONS.
  Leur premier album 'El Rancho Reverbo' (Icehouse Records - 1994) est co-produit par Roland JANES (ancien guitariste de Jerry Lee LEWIS et sessionman chez Sun Records) au Sam Phillips Recording Service.

  Ils signent ensuite chez Estrus chez qui ils sortent 'King Of The Strip' (Estrus - 1995) enregistré à Memphis et entament une série de concerts dans divers festivals garage (Garage Shock, Sleezefest, Crap Out). Ils partagent l'affiche avec Dick DALE ou DAVIE ALLAN & The ARROWS.
  Ils sortent deux autres albums chez Estrus 'Square Jungle' (1996) produit par Roland Janes et 'Play R&B Favorites' (1998) ainsi qu'une série de simples et d'EP.

  Leur musique a été utilisée pour des films (notamment leur version de 'Experiment in Terror' dans "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind / Confessions d'un homme dangereux" de George Clooney - 2002, 'Incident on the 10th Floor' pour le film "Way of the Gun Trailer" de Christopher McQuarrie et la musique originale du film "Teenage Tupelo" de John Michael McCarthy ) et des shows télévisés.

  Après quelques années de séparation, le groupe se reforme avec l'addition du batteur Paul Buchignani et de Marc Franklin (trompette, claviers).

  En 2005, sort une grande compilation 'Night Full Of Sirens : Anthology '93-'97' (Electraphonic records).
