INFORMATIONS

    Chanteur, pianiste, organiste, Billy PRESTON entame très tôt sa carrière musicale. A l'âge de dix ans, il joue déjà du piano aux côtés de Mahalia Jackson. Deux ans plus tard, il joue dans le film 'St. Louis Blues' sur la vie du bluesman W. C. Handy en prenant le rôle du "jeune" Handy.

    Prodige du piano et de l'orgue, il enregistre pour VeeJay au début des années 60 et tourne avec LITTLE RICHARD. Il se construit une solide réputation de 'sessionman'. Il enregistre l'album de gospel instrumental 'The Most Exciting Organ Ever' pour Vee Jay Records en 1966.

    C'est son gros succès dans les années 70 avec l'instrumental 'Outer-Space' et 'Will It Go Round in Circles' qui le propulse sur le devant de la scène.
