En 1967, Duke Robillard forme ROOMFUL OF BLUES à Westerly (Rhode Island). Dans les dix ans qui suivent il dirige ce groupe avec des formations différentes. Il quitte Roomfull Of Blues en 1979. Il rejoint The legendary Blues Band.
En 1981 il forme 'The Duke Robillard Band' qui devient rapidement 'Duke Robillard & The Pleasure Kings'. Ils tournent et sortent des albums chez Rounder Records. Dans le même temps, il enregistre en solo.
In 1990, il rejoint The FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS et il sort toujours des albums pour son propre compte. Il sort 'Temptation' chez Point Blank/Virgin en 1994 puis 'Duke's Blues' en 1996.
En 1997 sort 'Dangerous Place' chez Virgin et en 1999 'New Blues for Modern Man' chez Shanachie. 'Conversations in Swing Guitar' suit la même année. En 2000 sort 'Explorer'.
