Un des plus grands combos instrumentaux britaniques des années 60. Tous ses membres, à l'exception de Burt, étaient des musiciens de studio.
Ils se regroupèrent en 1961 comme groupe polyvalent dans le studio londonien du producteur indépendant
Joe MEEK pour accompagner des chanteurs solistes comme John Leyton, Iam Gregory et Pamela Blue.
Ils remplacèrent les BLUE FLAMES (avec Gorgie Fame) pour
accompagner Billy Fury.
En ce qui concerne leurs productions, l'enregistrement le plus marquant fut 'Telstar', leur second single en 1962. Cette composition de MEEK grimpa au sommet des charts anglais, américains (trois semmaines en décembre 1962, c'est le premier disque anglais à y parvenir) et d'autres pays européens. En Angleterre, 3 autres singles terminent dans le top 10 en 1963. Le groupe essuie des difficultés, accentuées par le Merseybeat qui favorise la chanson.
MEEK se suicide en 1967. Le groupe se sépare peu après. La plupart des membres se réunissent à nouveau en 1975 pour réenregistrer 'Telstar' et quelques concerts. Reformation plus permanente de 1989 qui inclue une chanteuse et un seul membre original, Clem CATTINI.
