INFORMATIONS

    Il commence à étudier la musique à 9 ans, la guitare à 13; Il étudie la musique classique mais joue avec des goupes locaux. Il fait sa première émission en 1940.
Il joue avec Stephane Grappelli, Django Reinhardt, avec Ted Heath au début des années 50, et dans le Cyril Stapleton BBC Show Band en 1956. Il joue pour Cliff Richard, Dickie Valentine, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Nat Cole.

    Il obtient 10 hits dans le top 50 entre 59 et 61, débutant avec le top 10 'Guitar Boogie Shuffle' (1959). 'Mr. Guitar' en 1961 a été écrit et lui a été dédié par les SHADOWS. Il a eu de nombreux disques d'or et a plublié des séries de livres pour apprendre la guitare.
